TRACK LIST & CREDITS

“Summer Sky” is an instrumental song written by Barry Cannizzaro in 1979. At that time, Parousia with its current line-up had been together for only a few months with a handful of original songs like “Cotton Holiday”, “Revelation”, “Miss Ogyny”, “Oh My Love”, “Angel”, Lucifer’s Lament, and (You) Got me All Crazy”. Barry’s song “Summer Sky” was a dramatic musical piece that added to the band’s growing repertoire. This is the only recording of the song that exists. Performed by Barry Cannizzaro live on Gary Storm’s “Oil of Dog” Radio show that also featured local musicians Patt Connolly (flute/vocals), Kim Watts (vocals/ percussion), Garth Huels (lead guitar), Robert Lowden (bass guitar), Dave Maltbie (keyboards) and Gerry North Cannizzaro (drums). Special thanks to John Miller, mix/sound engineer.

Oh My Love” is an original song written by Garth Huels. It has a classic British pop-flavor that is fun and upbeat. “Oh My Love” is one of the first songs written by Garth. This recording from 1979 features the first time the song was performed live on WBFO’s “Oil of Dog” late-night radio show hosted by Gary Storm. Featuring musicians Patt Connolly (flute/vocals), Kim Watts (vocals/ percussion), Garth Huels (lead guitar), Barry Cannizzaro (guitar), Robert Lowden (bass guitar), Dave Maltbie (keyboards), and Gerry North Cannizzaro (drums). Special thanks to John Miller, mix/sound engineer. The studio track “Oh My Love appears on the band’s “Revelation” album. The song “Oh My Love” made a comeback in 1984 when it became the “pick of the month” on the Indie-rock station WUWU. The “Revelation” album is available on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and all other major streaming platforms.

(You) Got Me All Crazy” is a jazz-rock ballad written by Patrick Connolly in 1979. It was the band’s first “dance song”. The real reason the song was written is that Parousia was under a lot of pressure to play “dance songs” whenever the band was booked at a school dance. So Patt wrote “(You) Got Me All Crazy” to appease whoever hired us to play the gig. It worked (sometimes). Yes, Parousia was an ‘album-oriented’ rock band, but hey, the schools paid well, often twice what we were getting from the clubs, so we weren’t going to turn it down. We would just apologize for our set (concert) later. This was the band’s first performance of “(You) Got Me All Crazy” (and still working out the kinks), on WBFO, Gary Storm’s “Oil of Dog” radio show. Performed live by Patt Connolly (flute/vocals), Kim Watts (vocals/ percussion), Garth Huels (lead guitar), Barry Cannizzaro (guitar), Robert Lowden (bass guitar), Dave Maltbie (keyboards), and Gerry North Cannizzaro (drums). Special thanks to John Miller, mix/sound engineer.

Radio host Gary Storm interviews Parousia”. A fun and confusing interview from 1979 when Gary Storm invited Buffalo’s own Parousia to perform live on the “Oil of Dog” late-night radio show at WBFO, the University of Buffalo. Imagine all seven members of the band [including Patt Connolly (flute/vocals), Kim Watts (vocals/ percussion), Garth Huels (lead guitar), Barry Cannizzaro (guitar), Robert Lowden (bass guitar), Dave Maltbie (keyboards), Gerry North Cannizzaro (drums)] and all their equipment crammed into a broadcast booth the size of a closet at 2 AM to crank out some of its earliest original material. Hilarity ensues when the band gives Gary its first “behind the scenes” interview, live and unscripted, across the college radio airwaves. Anyway, please don’t hold it against us…
